The Twelve Lies
of Christmas
Nate
Kelly is a spy. At least, he is until Christmas, when he’s retiring
to take up something more peaceful, like alligator wrestling or bomb
disposal. Because while he’s tired of being shot at, he’s also not sure
he really wants to live the life of a civilian. First, of course, he
has to finish his current case, complete with arms dealers, mobsters,
and celebrity parties.
Not to mention
the glamorous Russian femme fatale who’s hacking into the same computer
files as Nate, lying to the same people, and incidentally has the worst
Russian accent he’s ever heard. But just because she’s his enemy’s enemy,
doesn’t necessarily mean she’s his friend.
The
Twelve Lies of Christmas.
On the twelfth
day of Christmas, my true love lied to me.

"… a sexy and
spicy story, complete with intrigue and romance going hand in hand.
Both Nate and Sam are fabulous characters and well drawn. Mysterious
and compelling, this is a fabulous book by Kate Johnson that you won't
want to miss!" Cat, TwoLips

Random
stuff about The Twelve Lies of Christmas
I'd
sold the first three Sophie books to my Samhain editor, the lovely Jess,
and the first one was due to release in March 07. About six months before
that, she emailed and said Samhain was doing a collection of Christmas
titles, on pretty much any theme, and did I want to do a Sophie one?
I said yes, of course, and then spent many months trying to figure out
how the hell I was going to write a Christmas story, which by definition
has to have a happy ending, that could be released before I,
Spy?, which couldn't possibly take place after said happy ending.
Eventually
I figured I'd write about whoever Luke was partnered with before Sophie
came along. I'd been watching Hustle
at the time, and kind of liked the idea of writing about a con artist.
That's where Sam came from. Nate, on the other hand...I'm not entirely
sure about. He's the exact opposite of Sophie for one thing.
This
is only the second book I've ever written entirely from the male point
of view. The other is What
Wizards Want, one of my erotic romances, about a rather inept wizard
and a pirate queen who's been trapped in a fishing float for 300 years.
